Abstract

This study examined the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and the export performance of agricultural SMEs in Nigeria. The study was based exclusively on primary data obtained by administering a well-structured questionnaire and conducted in the western states (Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun Ekiti, and Ondo) of Nigeria. The purposive sampling technique was used to select the participants of agricultural SMEs. Data collected were analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The finding showed that entrepreneurial orientations has no effect on export performance of agricultural SMEs in Nigeria, where R2 = 0.91, F = (3, 21) = 0.705, P > 0.05. The study, therefore, recommends that there is a need for direct support for agricultural SMEs from the Nigerian government, policymakers, and independent bodies to formulate more functional policies and workable strategies that will ease the local business environment as well as encouraging the exportation of agricultural products.
